Halloween Nails: Day 8

8 Oct

Good afternoon my fellow ghouls, I’m so excited this turned out nicely! I never attempted gradient nails with textured polishes before. I had some concerns that textured polishes wouldn’t play nice with gradients. Using one of the PixieDusts by Zoya was a breeze however cleanup is a different story altogether.

Here’s Day 8! I’m bewitched by my own nails!

See more pics and details after the jump.

Here are the polishes I used for this look:

Zoya Ziv
Zoya Lara
Zoya Carter (Pixie Dust / textured)
Rica Glossy Glam
Rica Blackout

Plates I used:
MoYou London Gothic 04

I painted my nails with Zoya Lara which happens to be a very lovely shade of pink. Then I attempted to sponge on Zoya Carter and some more of the Zoya Lara one for a gradient look.

It was messy and cleanup was a bit difficult due to the textured polish. However I think it was worth that extra hassle. Here’s the gradient nails after clean up.

I went ahead and stamped the crosses/cemetery images on all my nails except the middle one using Rica Blackout. This is from the MoYou London Gothic 04 plate. I stamped on an haunted house using the OB26 plate again with the Blackout. I filled in the windows of that haunted house with Zoya Ziv.

With that Zoya Ziv, I painted a circle for a moon. When that was dry, I went ahead and used the flying witch decal from Vinylsaurus Rex and placed it over the gold moon. The bat and the grim reaper are also from Vinylsaurus Rex.

Here’s some more pictures!

I finished the nails off with a coat of Glossy Glam topcoat. What do you think of these nails? I know pink doesn’t scream Halloween in general. However I find it worked well with this scene on my nails.

Be back tomorrow my beautiful ghouls!

Love these. Maybe I’ll make an attempt on similar in my next mani. I live the pink and purple gradient as background. Super!

There’s so much that one can do with that plate. I plan on using it again for upcoming manis.
