Adorn Nails’ Landlocked Mermaid

15 May

I bought Adorn Nails’ Landlocked Mermaid recently and I couldn’t wait to try it out! I decided to pair it up with some stamping using Color Club’s Harp On It.

How do you like these nails? I tried my best to capture the duochrome shift in Landlocked Mermaid. It is actually a multichrome shimmer. Depending on the angle of the light, it can appear to be a shimmery purple sheer, a turquoise-teal mix or sea green shimmer. It’s stunning!

Opacity reached at 3 coats however I did notice the tips of my nails are not as opaque. This is a non-issue for me personally. I couldn’t help but be reminded of Max Factor’s Fantasy Fire (remember the hype over these?). Now, Landlocked Mermaid isn’t similar to Fantasy Fire in color at all however it is a similar type of polish. I cannot wait to try to layer Landlocked Mermaid over purple, a turquoise-teal, or a sea green colored polish. I will post swatches showing Landlocked Mermaid layered on top of these colors that matches its shifting color particles in the soon future.

Would I recommend this? Oh yeah! I will give Landlocked Mermaid 4 out of 5 stars. Landlocked Mermaid and other beauties by Adorn Nails are available on their website at They are also on Instagram – be sure to follow them @adornnails.

Thank you so much for this amazing review!!! I think a lot of people see Landlocked Mermaid in the bottle and don’t realize it’s really more of a sheer. But we love it! And it also looks amazing over our Age of Aquarius or All Hands On Deck. And if you’re looking for just opacity without influencing the color, try it over a white base coat. Personally, we love it just as it is!!!
