I know some of you have already heard about and/or have seen pictures of Kelly Osbourne and her very expensive ($250,000) manicure that she wore to the Emmys in Fall 2012. Kelly’s nails had the nail polish made by Los Angeles-based luxury jeweler, Azature, and the polish itself was made with 267-carat black diamonds!

Glitzology’s Purple Rain

16 Jan

I placed a large order of Glitzology’s indie polishes and received them recently. Among the polishes I bought from Glitzology was this bottle of Purple Rain. Purple Rain is part of Glitzology’s “Artist Formally Known As….” collection. This Purple Rain is jam-packed with various hues of purple (think everything from lilac to dark purple), magenta & silver glitter. There’s also some small and medium hex shaped glitter in there! Her shipping was very fast and the polishes were wrapped safely in bubble wrap. I loved how she included her business card in the order along with a sheet of nail polish tips to get the most out of this and any other polish. She mainly discussed the best methods of removing glitter polish as well as the importance of using a base coat. It is clear that the the creator, Stacy Boyd, cares about her customers!! Good job Stacy!!

Terrestrial Nails’ Fuchsia Garden

16 Jan

I discovered this indie polish maker via Instagram several months ago. The creater of these polishes can be found on Instagram @newieee. All of her polishes are Big 3 Free (which means they do not contain formaldehyde, toluene, or dibutyl phthalate). I coveted for this polish for many many months after reading some reviews by some bloggers and instagrammers. When I finally got this polish, I was excited! It did look gorgeous in the bottle. It’s bright teal with fuchsia glitter. Unfortunately it is one of these cases where it looks amazing in the bottle but not as amazing on the nails. I was disappointed that it took MORE than 2 coats to opacity. If you want this polish, I would highly recommend using “undies” under this color to help with the opacity. Besides the poor opacity quality, the application itself was perfect. There were no clumps and I didn’t have to fish around for glitter. This is a gorgeous polish. Would I recommend it? Maybe. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
